Interior design

Boulangerie Thierry Marx

Thierry Marx's first bakery opened in 2016. At the helm as the designer of the place and artistic director, Mathilde de l'Ecotais orchestrated every detail, from the logo to the Hitchcock-inspired motifs, down to the design frozen in the gusset of the takeaway bags.

The spirit of the place is nomadic and timeless, reflecting the chef's own style. The seats, designed like scooters, evoke his globetrotting lifestyle, while the walls offer a hazelnut caramel of the highest order to give "memory to the ephemeral," as the chef so aptly puts it.

Every element of the design contributes to making this bakery a gateway into the world of the Michelin-starred chef. To support her in this artistic endeavor, Mathilde surrounded herself with Sophie Fournier Villiot, founder of the Amarante agency, and Francois Wapler, an accomplished interior architect.
