Design Piscines
patented dressing technique
Mathilde de l'Ecotais likes to say that one can "bathe in a photograph." For years, she has explored this dialogue between water, light, and image. From this research emerged a unique technique, which she created and patented in 2014, allowing the photograph to become embedded in matter, to be experienced as much as it is viewed.
She speaks of a practical art — an art that serves a purpose, that goes beyond contemplation to become an experience.
Each time she stands before one of her monumental prints, she feels the same emotion: seeing the light play on the surface, pass through the water, create organic reflections unimaginable beforehand.

"Giving photography a place in reality is not just about providing an image to contemplate, it's also about experiencing a sensory experience."
