BLUE PUGU FISH FINS

Mathilde de l'Ecotais designs entire universes from a photograph. Depending on the light and the architecture of the walls, she uses a photograph – here, a single image of a pufferfish fin – to highlight the ceiling height and the zenithal light falling on the photograph, amplifying its reflections.

This fin guides the eye, creates a direction, a sense of rhythm, but it's more than that: mounted on a movable partition, it appears like a knife pointed at the cook working on the teppanyaki grill integrated into the central island of Zimbabwe marble. It is the artist's vision that dictates the interior design. With her team, Mathilde conceives, designs, chooses the materials, the colors, and their application.

Restaurant "Mondrian" Cannes

"In an age of duplicability, I like to design exceptional pieces, unique pieces adjusted to the millimeter, ready to make a place singular."

Restaurant LE DIX, Paris 11th

"For this exceptional Parisian location, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, I designed the restaurant and transformed a semi-outdoor passageway into a champagne bar with curved lines."
