Mathilde de l'Ecotais questions the relationship between humans and living things through matter, light and water in all her works.
A former photojournalist (AFP, Sigma, Sipa), she now repurposes photographic processes — macro, cyanotype, video — to reveal the hidden poetry of the organic world.
Alongside her artistic practice, Mathilde designs spaces and objects that extend her world: restaurants, living spaces, installations, and scenography. Her creations (notably for ONOR, Le Bouillon du Coq, Le Mondrian, and Onepoint) reflect a quest for balance between aesthetics, sustainability, and emotion.
Each project becomes an ecosystem, an experience of beauty and truth.
Between creation and commitment, photographer, director of short programs and advertising films, she founded Media Social Factory with Thierry Marx, a free school that trains young people who have dropped out of school or women in professional retraining in 10 weeks.
Her work, exhibited in France and internationally, celebrates the beauty of the world in transformation… and its fragility.

Portrait of Mathilde by Romain
In 2018, Mathilde de l'Ecotais created with Thierry Marx: "Media Social Factory", an innovative school inspired by the Cuisine Mode d'Emploi(s) model.
It provides 11 weeks of training for young people who are unemployed or have dropped out of school, focusing on image and digital communication professions, primarily for social media. Completely free and without public funding, the training is based on the "learning by doing" principle, placing practice and experience at the heart of the learning process.
Recognized as a public benefit organization, Media Social Factory is supported by private companies that commission reports, photographs, videos, and interviews. With an 89% job placement rate, Media Social Factory has established itself as a key player in the training and integration of young people.
